DREAM MATCHUP #1: DAVID BANNER AND 50 CENT!
Yeah I know, on paper it doesn't sound like something epic. But think about it for a second. How many southern acts as 50 did a song with besides Buck? And what would be a greater matchup for Banner to get his name amongst the elite then have a single with one of the highest selling hip-hop artists in history? Maybe this dream match up isn't merely as important for the creative process, but as a way to take both MC's careers to greater heights. Plus, if Banner produces the beat. . . it'll be bananas to begin with!
DREAM MATCHUP #2: EMINEM, TECH N9NE, AND/OR ANDRE 3000
It just has to happen. Without a doubt, all three men have proven time and time again how great of wordsmiths each is, and have that one song that speaks for their mission with music and the struggle anyone that has ever tried to spit faces. Each of them is successful, both musically and financially, so there wouldn't be an issue with someone outshining someone. This simply has to happen because hip-hop needs that one collaboration no one would ever imagine in 100 years would happen. That one collaboration that would shake the very foundations of hip-hop to the core, and in the process make us listen intently for more. Just imagine when you're skimming the internet or browsing I-Tunes and you read the words, "NEW SINGLE - EMINEM feat. Andre 3000 & Tech N9ne". What would your reaction be?
DREAM MATCHUP #3: LUPE FIASCO AND LL COOL J!
As much as the one above this would shake the foundations of hip-hop, this would surely regenerate the hip-hop heads if the Queens MC and Chicago brethren made a single together. We could look at this as a veteran passing the game onto the future. Yes, there is a hidden message in there. Lupe is not retiring after LupEnd, I don't think his core fan base and his ever growing fanbase would let him. It didn't work for Hova. It didn't work for Eminem, even though he never admitted he retired. As long as there is a desire for an MC to continue their craft, we'll expect more and more heat from Lupe Fiasco. The catalyse would definitely be the G.O.A.T. stepping in the booth with him to realize this maybe, but even if this dream collab doesn't happen, Lupe already worked with another NYC legend Jay-Z off his first album.
Remember when Jay-Z and Nas finally ended their beef four years ago and worked on a song together? Or remember when Biggie said he'd work with 2Pac had he not died? . . . that's epic. So it got us here at Street Rich thinking. What would hip-hop be like of some of the greatest MC's and hottest in the game right now decided to do a track, mixtape, or album together. The first batch we thought of was LL and Lil' Wayne, and also a dream collaboration with Dipset and the Wu Tang Clan. Here's what we're thinking this go around...
